Ready Steady Boardroom: A Debate

Extended to 2012

The grant can help small businesses with fewer than 150 employees with up to £5,000 towards employee training costs.

It is managed by Skills Development Scotland (SDS) and supported by the European Social Fund.

Funding is available for up to 10 employees per business.  SDS will refund 50% of the cost of up to 10 training courses with a maximum value of £500 per course. The initiative is flexible, so 10 employees can do one course each or one employee can do 10 courses, with any combination in between. This flexibility allows businesses to tailor courses needed to become more resilient to their market by boosting both productivity and success.

The Grant also means businesses can either effectively double their training investment or it might help them introduce training when they thought it wouldn’t be possible.

The availablility of this grant has now been extended by a year, i.e. Businesses must register before 31st March 2012 and complete the training by 30th June 2012.

The application process is simple and the rewards can really make a difference. Many businesses have already taken advantage of the offer – WHY DON’T YOU?! Find out more at http://bit.ly/FTO_grant.

If you do decide to apply, please also contact Carol Dougan at carol.dougan@sds.co.uk to let her know - she will keep an eye on applications to make sure they progress.

Training providers: it is worth flagging these grants to (potential) clients as they will make your services even more affordable!
