Best Affiliated Group of the Year Award


Introduced in 2015, this award recognises and rewards the contribution of an affiliated group to the overall success of the businesswomen throughout Scotland. Revised in 2019 to encourage every affiliated group to celebrate their achievements by demonstrating the values of linking, inspiring and supporting their members, committees, the entire affiliated network. And to recognise their own contribution to the wider business community and the Scottish economy.




Every ASB Affiliated Group or Club, as at 31st May in the awards year, will be entered for this award.

Group should provide a supporting statement to cover the preceding 12 month period (up to 31st May).

Application process

The application must be submitted by a group member who is registered as an ASB member on the website.

The application should be submitted via the ASB website (see Awards Home Page for full application process).

Applications MUST be accompanied by two endorsements/references (i.e. testimonial statement or letter)‚Äč.

Applications MUST include a photo of the applicant, suitable for use in the event the applicant is shortlisted as a finalist. 

Upload files must not exceed 1MB

Criteria assessed (500 words max per criterion.)

  • Facilitates an engaged, diverse and growing membership.
  • Demonstrates commitment to members.
  • Enables its members to link, inspire and support.
  • Builds relationships with peers and the wider national business community.
  • Promotes the benefits of the entire association network with measurable results.
  • Achieves results to the benefit of the Scottish business economy.
  • Faces and manages its greatest challenges.

  • Open date for entries is 9am on Tuesday 30th April, 2019
  • Closing date for entries is Midnight on Sunday 30th June
  • Only online applications will be accepted.
  • Applicants are requested to upload a photo (individual or team) appropriate to the award applied for. This will only be used if selected as a finalist.
  • The shortlisted finalists will be asked to attend an interview with the judging panel, in Haymarket, Edinburgh, during the w/c Monday 22nd July, 2019.
  • Finalists are required to attend the Awards Dinner on Saturday 14th September, The Corn Exchange, Edinburgh.
