Recognition of Best Practice in Diversity and Inclusion

Background

Introduced in 2019 this new award recognises an individual who has made a significant contribution to enhance diversity, equality and inclusion in their business or business area.

Eligibility

This award is made to an individual, rather than to an organisation.

Entry is free for affiliate members and ASB direct members, and costs £50 per entry for non-members.

Application process

The application should be submitted via the ASB website (see Awards Home Page for full application process).

Applications MUST be accompanied by two endorsements/references (i.e. testimonial statement or letter)‚Äč.

Applications MUST include a photo of the applicant, suitable for use in the event the applicant is shortlisted as a finalist.

Criteria assessed (500 words max per criterion.)

  • Name of Nominee (if application made by a third party)
  • Championing best practice in diversity and inclusion issues
  • Creating an inclusive culture in their team or business by challenging inequality, barriers and bias
  • Developing and delivering positive actions or interventions to enable talented people from all backgrounds to realise their full potential
  • Influencing the attitudes and behaviours in their business/business area
  • Evidence of the impact they have had in the support of equality and diversity both within their own organisation and in the wider community

  • Open date for entries is 9am on Tuesday 30th April, 2019
  • Closing date for entries is Midnight on Sunday 30th June
  • Only online applications will be accepted.
  • Applicants are requested to upload a photo (individual or team) appropriate to the award applied for. This will only be used if selected as a finalist.
  • The shortlisted finalists will be asked to attend an interview with the judging panel, in Haymarket, Edinburgh, during the w/c Monday 22nd July, 2019.
  • Finalists are required to attend the Awards Dinner on Saturday 14th September, The Corn Exchange, Edinburgh.
