Background

Championing the big contribution family firms make to business ecosystem, this category seeks to reward Scotland’s top family-run SME with less than 100 employees. Whether you’re a mother daughter duo, or your husband is in the team or sister or cousins, we want to celebrate the founders that are balancing work and family life to achieve business success.  Judges will be looking for an organisation that can demonstrate how the family business's values and dedication to succession planning have contributed to success across the business.

Eligibility

Those who can apply 

• Scottish Family-run SME's with less than 100 employees and a woman as the driving force behind the business
• Affliate members
• ASB direct members 
• Non-members (£50/entry)

Last year's winner in same category 

Criteria assessed

Criteria assessed (500 words max per criterion.)

• Tell us briefly about your business and the family members involved (100 words max)
• Demonstrate how family values influence the business
• Explain how the interests of the family are balanced against the interests of the business
• Share your evidence of successful business performance and succession planning
• Demonstrate that this successful performance is sustainable long term
