Most Innovative Start Up Award

Background

This award celebrates the new ideas, processes, products, services, technologies and applications that have the greatest impact on an organisation’s start up success. 

This award recognises a young enterprise, that has most successfully applied innovation, and is one year old, or less, at 31st May in the year of the award.

Eligibility

Only businesses trading for one year or less are eligible to apply.

Whilst the Award is made to a business entity, a woman must be the driving force behind the business.

If you won the Most Innovative Start-up of the Year Award last year then you are not eligible to enter the category this year.

Entry is free for affiliate members and ASB direct members, and costs £50 per entry for non-members.

Application process

The application should be submitted via the ASB website (see Awards Home Page for full application process).

Applicants will be asked to provide historical and forecast financial figures (in strict confidence) in support of their application. 

Applications MUST be accompanied by two endorsements/references.

Applications MUST include a photo of the applicant, suitable for use in the event the applicant is shortlisted as a finalist. 

Upload files must not exceed 2MB.

Criteria assessed (500 words max per criterion.)

  • Created competitive advantage
  • Transformed the organisation or wider industry
  • Embedded ethical or sustainable operational practices
  • Increased market share or customer engagement
  • Shown adaptability to market conditions

  • Please read the Awards Application Guide in full before starting your application.
  • Open date for entries is 9am on Tuesday 30th April, 2019
  • Closing date for entries is 5pm on Friday 28th June, 2019
  • Only online applications will be accepted.
  • Applicants are requested to upload a photo (individual or team) appropriate to the award applied for. This will only be used if selected as a finalist.
  • The shortlisted finalists will be asked to attend an interview with the judging panel, in Haymarket, Edinburgh, during the w/c Monday 22nd July, 2019.
  • Finalists are required to attend the Awards Dinner on Saturday 14th September, The Corn Exchange, Edinburgh.
