Professional of the Year Award

Background

Introduced in 2013 this award recognises the qualities of a successful woman in a profession who makes a significant individual contribution to support her organisation to deliver superior performance.

“Last year my Board nominated me for the ASB Professional of the Year Award (2018) – the first I knew about the nomination was when I received a telephone call inviting me for interview as one of the shortlisted finalists!  Winning this National Award has been an amazing, affirming and humbling experience as there are so many talented business women across Scotland.

"The Award has helped to positively raise the profile of Rossie, my organisation,  and independently validate my leadership style, which is one of staff inclusivity. My staff are standing a little taller, smiling a little brighter, and have great pride in this achievement as the success links directly back to them and their excellent work. The Award also increases key stakeholder confidence in my leadership, resulting in greater opportunities for partnership working.

"On a personal level, if I am having a bad day and need a little “pick me up” it is nice to hold the trophy and remind myself that I am doing okay"
