"This Award demonstrates that the Trust is being noticed and this will encourage confidence and pride within our team to achieve success"
Isabel has not only carved out a successful and impactful career, she has also become an exceptional community leader with a long-standing passion for education. As Chair of the David Livingstone Trust, she is the driving force behind a £6.1m project to transform Livingstone’s Blantyre birthplace into a hub of learning and cross-cultural importance, securing funding from the Scottish Government, Heritage Lottery Fund and Historic Environment Scotland. She is also a Board member of the Scotland-Malawi Partnership where she encourages multi-sectoral connections between the two nations; her work in Malawi earned her an OBE in 2009. Her contributions to Scottish Higher Education include her contribution to the creation of the University of the West of Scotland. She previously served on the boards of the National Museums of Scotland and NMS Charitable Trust, and was Director of Science and Society for Scottish Government. She currently runs her small business Project Solutions. Isabel is a trailblazer for women in business.
