What is your current role within the company?
My current role is Director – I am responsible for the continued growth and success of our business and our people. I joined in 2008 as a Senior Consultant within the Engineering division placing Supply Chain professionals, progressed to a management role in 2010 to oversee the Engineering and Supply Chain Division and Director in 2012 where my role has been to change the direction of the company to operate within the construction sector.
What is your background prior to working for this company/setting up your company?
Prior to joining Maxwell Bruce I worked with a national recruitment agency from 2005. Before then I worked in advertising sales for a local Fife newspaper.
What makes your company and/or your role stand out?
Our company stands out as we go the extra mile to be audit ready every day for our clients. Supplying a flexible workforce of an average of 800 workers daily means we have to work hard to ensure we place the right person first time. We add value to our clients in areas such as resource planning, scheduling, testing and following their audit procedures as well as our own.
What is your area of expertise / inspiration?
Building teams, developing people and business growth. My team are the most important thing to me, without them we wouldn’t be successful so I take their careers personally and support them as much as I can.
What are your plans for the future?
Professionally my plans for the future involve continuing to grow Maxwell Bruce and to become the agency of choice within our sectors, to continue to add services that add value and to support my team to develop and progress their individual careers within the company. Personally I will be hitting a milestone birthday this year so will be having a celebration year to mark my 40th.
What inspires or motivates you?
Lots of things….my two boys, my team but especially my Managing Director who has supported me in the last 8 years to develop my career and continues to push me to the next level.
