"Sheila gives her time to everyone whilst asking for nothing in return"
Sheila was described in her application as ‘a woman like no other’. Her work at the Mount Kirk Church in Greenock is at the heart of the community. She brings together young mums to ensure that they have support, runs the toddler groups and works alongside mums who have children with additional needs. No one is left out in Sheila's world.
Quietly mentoring the young mums, she has watched one particularly mum flourish in enough confidence that she now holds her own group and shares what Sheila has shown her. The community responds to Sheila; a recent call for help was for a young family who lost their 2-year old child with donations coming in for both the funeral, and the family. This was described as ‘just a small snippet’ of Sheila's kindness. Sheila gives her time to everyone whilst asking for nothing in return.
