Currently I have a duel role, Managing Director of Journeycall and The ESP Group Chief Operating Officer.
What is your background prior to working for this company/setting up your company?
I was a beautician by trade and owned my own business. It taught me the basic principles of business and most importantly the value of looking after your customers by delivering them value.
I took a part-time job at Journeycall, as a Contact Centre Advisor, to help fund a new premise for my beauty therapy business. That was eleven years ago and I haven’t looked back.
The part-time role evolved into a full-time one and gradually I started to take on extra responsibilities within Journeycall.
Bringing me to the challenging but extremely rewarding role of ESP Groups COO some 10 years later.
What makes your company and/or your role stand out?
For me, it’s all about engagement and culture. We have a ongoing focus on internal development and are well known for being a flexible employer. So much so, that we are considered an employer of choice by our staff, which is externally verified by best companies every year.
People are very much at the heart of our business; team members, our clients and customers, which drives our culture.
People talk of an open-door policy, but this really happens at Journeycall and is stressed to everyone from day one. I’m proud of our Quality and Training which are a non-negotiable part of our service offering.
What is your area of expertise / inspiration?
Our objective is to run a successfully, financially stable business, to grow our headcount and to ensure continued employment for our team. My part in this is to make sure that everyone is empowered to deliver into their role, bringing them on the journey and motivating them to meet and exceed their potential.
What are your plans for the future?
The ESP Group is primed to help change the transport industry through the products that we develop and the services that we deliver. We must Retain our existing client base as well grow into new territories.
Short term future, I’ve got a holiday booked for Italy, my first two weeks off in my eleven years at Journeycall - turning 40 has to have some perks!
What inspires or motivates you?
Without question it is the people that I have the privilege to work with every day, I learn from each and every one of them. They motivate me to work harder and be better.
On a personal level it is my two beautiful daughters, who are the reason I get up in the morning.
