Around 60 members from all over Scotland converged on the George Hotel in Edinburgh for the first full face to face event - ASB Conference and National Awards 2022.
Rosie Barron aka The Tidy coo kicked the day off discussing how to clear your home and your mind. Her mantra - only keep joy in your life. This applies to people, work & things. Next up Gin Lalli, Solution Focused Therapy, a member of Edinburgh Businesswomen's Club, talked us through filling and emptying our stress buckets. Gin also explained why the menopause cou I'd be adding to the stress bucket but then gave coping mechanisms to keep that stress at bay. Her phrase of the day was that she is a therapist who doesn't want to know your problems.
After a finger buffet lunch we went back into the Kings Hall where candelabra had appeared on the tables and the lighting had changed to reflect the ASB brand. Gillian Fleming of Mint Ventures, a female founded Angel Investors group talked through the investment journey and also gave information on becoming an Angel investor.
We then had a 'Tell us about your business' session when we heard from some of our attendees on what their businesses were or impart a snippet that might help others.
Now onto the main event - the lighting dimmed, the candelabra were lit and the cake stands appeared - sandwiches scones and cakes served up with a glass of Prosecco or elderflower and soda alternative. The awards were about to start. Music started and the first category was announced........
