Fiona Macintosh is the founder of More Than Motivation, a
Caithness-based specialist in leadership, motivation, and workplace wellbeing
for small business owners. She helps people who suddenly find themselves as
“the boss”, often without any formal training, develop the clarity, confidence,
and skills to lead well, support their teams, and create workplaces where
people genuinely thrive.
With more than 30 years’ experience leading teams across
education, voluntary organisations, and the care sector, Fiona brings a
practical, down-to-earth approach grounded in real-world leadership. She blends
leadership development, motivation insight, wellbeing support, and optional NLP
and advanced hypnosis techniques to help business owners navigate people
challenges with confidence and compassion.
Her work is rooted in lived experience: running a croft at
Dunnbeag, leading her son’s care team, decades of instructing with the Royal
Air Force Air Cadets, and working closely with rural small business owners
across the Highlands. Fiona understands the unique pressures faced by
micro-businesses and remote employers, and offers practical tools that fit real
life – not corporate theory.
Fiona is a Licensed Motivational Maps Practitioner, a Licensed
Liberating Leadership Practitioner, and holds multiple qualifications in
wellbeing, mental health, education, NLP, and hypnosis.
When she’s not supporting leaders, you’ll find her on the
croft surrounded by Kunekune pigs, sheep, dogs, and the occasional muddy
adventure; often the source of her most memorable leadership analogies.
