Hi, I’m Laura, an independent civil celebrant based in Fife. Through my company Evermore Civil Ceremonies, I work alongside families to create personal funeral and memorial services that reflect the life, personality, and story of the person being honoured.
My role is to listen, gather stories, and create a ceremony that authentically reflects the person being honoured. Whether a service is traditional, religious, secular, informal, humorous, or reflective, my aim is always the same: to ensure every farewell is delivered with warmth, dignity, and respect. I love to hear the phrase, “That was them to a T” at the end of a service.
My commitment to supporting people through end of life extends beyond my celebrant work. I am a co-director of The D Word CIC, where we provide compassionate death education within local high schools, educational establishments, workplaces, and community groups. Through talks, workshops, and community engagement, we encourage open conversations around death, dying, and bereavement, helping people feel more informed, prepared, and confident when facing end-of-life matters.
I am also a trained end-of-life doula and bring these skills to my volunteer work with the Scottish charity Pushing Up The Daisies, which promotes informed choice and family-led care after death.
I am passionate about dignified dying and ensuring that people understand the choices available to them. Drawing together my celebrant work, doula training, volunteer roles, and more than 30 years of experience in care and care management, I am committed to helping create communities that are more resilient and confident when navigating death, dying, and grief.
As a confident and experienced public speaker, I enjoy sharing knowledge, challenging taboos, and encouraging meaningful conversations about a subject that affects us all.
I value building strong relationships with local families, funeral directors, educational establishments, and fellow professionals across Fife who share a compassionate, person-centred approach to end-of-life care and support.
