Hello, I'm Mary — owner of Physical Fitness Therapies. I live in Ardrossan, right across from the beautiful beach, with my husband Malcolm, a firefighter, and my wonderful family including my daughter Caitlin, a veterinary nurse. I also have two amazing sons: Stephen, a manager at Spirit, and Kriss, a personal trainer and gym owner. Without my family's love, support, and endless patience—especially from Malcolm an amazing Firefighter —I wouldn’t be where I am today.
I’m a former Military Warrant Officer, medically discharged due to injuries sustained during service. My military career was full of diverse roles—everything from running kitchens across Scotland and managing contractors at the Edinburgh Military Tattoo for six years, to overseeing operations in various countries to running a kitchen at the Commonwealth Games. I even trained soldiers to shoot as well as cook! Taught them a variety of physical fitness training, and nutrition, and taught military classes on hygiene and allergens.
From running shooting ranges to driving Arctic lorries, managing chefs across the globe to working in high-pressure environments—I've learned resilience, leadership, and adaptability.
My upbringing wasn’t easy, and my early education was limited. But at 38, I went to college—proving it’s never too late to start again. I was proud to be named Student of the Year in my first year. All I ever wanted was to build a better life for myself and my children, and to help others do the same.
Due to an accident in service, I now live with Complex PTSD and permanent vestibular damage. Some days are tough—but my mission is to support others on their journey to recovery. Whether it’s helping with muscle wastage, mobility issues, injury rehabilitation, or emotional support, I offer treatments that focus on real, lasting results.
I’m a qualified Personal Trainer and Sports Injuries Specialist, offering a wide range of therapies, all delivered with care and professionalism.
I believe everyone deserves first-class treatment, from the moment they walk through the door to the moment they leave. Whether you’re dealing with chronic pain, recovering from injury, or simply in need of some rest and care—my goal is to help you feel better, stronger, and more confident.
Even with a disability, I believe in never giving up. When I was told I couldn’t do certain things, I pushed harder. That determination is what keeps me going—and it’s what I bring to every client I work with.
