In Good Company.
Established in 2006, Moray Business Women is a dynamic club for business & professional women in and around Moray.
It is now one of the largest business women's clubs in Scotland with over 90 members and is continually growing. We have meetings every month, members and guests come together and network over supper. Each meeting is different, with either a focus on networking and getting to know your fellow members a bit better, or with a guest speaker.
As well as monthly meetings, the club actively works with chosen charities each year to raise money for their worthwhile causes.
For 2020 our chosen charity Moray Rape Crisis. Moray Rape Crisis is a new service, having launched in September 2018. We offer support to survivors of all forms of sexual violence, of all genders, aged 11 and over. This can include recent rape, sexual assault, stalking, online abuse and sexual harassment, as well as abuse which happened many years ago, including child sexual abuse. As well as support to survivors we offer support to family, partners, friends and professionals to enable them to access the information and support they need to best support survivors. We offer 1:1 therapeutic support, as well as information and advocacy to those considering reporting to the Police. We also offer a range of groups, which so far has included a singing group, a walking group, and Nourish sessions, run in partnership with Moray Food Plus (formerly Moray Food Bank) where women and their children can come together in a safe, social setting to bake, cook, build social relationships and have fun. We know it can be hard to talk about sexual violence, and people can be fearful of not being believed, of being judged, or blamed, or unsure who or how to tell. We are offer to offer a safe space, where survivors will be heard, listened to and believed.
The year is rounded off with our Annual Awards Ball, where we celebrate the past year and coveted awards are made to those women who have excelled in their business and professional life. In addition we use the evening to raise funds towards our final charity total.
We also offer a mentoring scheme - set up in April 2011 to help and support women who have recently set up in business. If you are interested in joining please get in touch.
